For our Sunday reflection we have pleasure in presenting a series of
prayers reflecting on the Gifts and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit that
have been adapted from a recent series presented in the Daily Prayer in
the Classroom program published by the the Catholic Education Office,
Parramatta.
Prayer Text:
Let us pray today to the Holy Spirit
who is the ultimate origin of these seven gifts
we are focusing on in our Sunday reflections at the moment.
We pray today especially for Knowledge -
the raw facts and information about life
that we need to learn to process in intelligent ways
in order to become informed and wise people.
Teach us, Oh Holy Spirit,
how to discern fact from fiction,
how to discern important facts from trivial facts.
Teach us what facts we really do need to remember
to make our lives meaningful and fulfilled,
and which facts are discretionary or optional -
and we only need to remember where we can access
them in a library, or on the internet, when we really need them.
Shower us, Oh Holy Spirit, with your Wisdom, your Understanding,
your good Counsel, your Fortitude and your Knowledge
so that we might become informed, intelligent and wise people.
We ask for these, Your gifts, Oh Holy Spirit
through Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Amen
