For our Sunday reflection we have pleasure in presenting a series of
prayers reflecting on the Gifts and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit that
have been adapted from a recent series presented in the Daily Prayer in
the Classroom program published by the the Catholic Education Office,
Parramatta.
Prayer Text:
The gift of Good Counsel might be summed up in two concepts:
The ability to be able to listen to good advice; and
The ability to be able to give good advice.
Let us pray today for the gift of Good Counsel
In the name of our God who is three in one:
The Creator who calls us into existence,
Jesus who calls us to be of service to one another,
The Holy Spirit who calls us to new life,
We pray
Creator God, as we go about our work today,
we do so with the awareness that without your Divine Presence
here at the centre of our work, and also within ourselves, our work will
be empty.
Grace us with your Counsel -
the ability to hear your promptings and advice in our lives;
the ability to understand wisely the good counsel
of our loved ones, colleagues, friends and those who provide spiritual
counsel.
Gift us with the ability to give good advice.
Let our advice to our friends, and all those who call on us for our opinions,
always we filled with wisdom and understanding. Amen
