 Today in lieu of Ian Elmer's regular written commentary on St Paul, thanks to Daniel Gullotta, we are able to bring you a video recording of Dr Elmer's address at the launch of his book Paul, Jerusalem and the Judaisers held at the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane on Wednesday. Our second video commentary is in two parts. It is conversation between the Editor of Catholica, Brian Coyne, and our regular Wednesday commentator, Tom McMahon presently visiting Australia from his home in San Jose, California. In this conversation Tom provides further background to his series of commentaries on the Meaning of Sacrament in the Age of Technology. |

How economic inequality harms societies... We feel instinctively that societies with huge income gaps are somehow going wrong. Richard Wilkinson charts the hard data on economic inequality, and shows what gets worse when rich and poor are too far apart: real effects on health, lifespan, even such basic values as trust.
