We are opening this secure PayPal facility for people who would like to make smaller contributions to our work.

In the long run our work will require a substantial input of capital funding in order to utilise innovative search engine technologies to reach the audience we seek to serve. Access to those technologies is expensive and we are presently raising the funding that will be required to use them from philanthropic sources (not through this PayPal facility).

In the meantime we have had a growing number of enquiries from individuals who support our endeavour and who would like to make a small financial contribution to our work. Many of these enquiries have come from people who read our commentaries and follow the discussions on our forums but who do not themselves contribute to the discussions.

At present all funds raised in this way will be utilised either in the payment for the various technical facilities we use, such as web-hosting and the commercial facility we use to maintain our growing email database, or they will be used to help disperse the costs of the advertising we pay for in secular and religious media channels to promote our work.

In the long run, when we have the philanthropic support we require, we intend to also reimburse our lead commentators for the skill and time they are able to bring to our endeavour in helping us attract the audience we seek to serve. At that point we expect approximately half our annual income will be dispersed towards the payment of writers and contributors to the endeavour, about 25% in advertising and the purchase of the search engine technologies that enable us to reach our audience, and around 25% will be spent on administrative overheads including for the employment of personnel to administer our databases and liaise with members.

We emphasize again that all payments made through this secure PayPal facility will be committed to the purchase of advertising and the disbursement of the technical costs of maintaining the website and email facilities that Catholica uses.

We have confidence that when Catholica has reached its final objectives it will not be dependent on philanthropic or charitable support but will be able to stand on its own feet through commercial advertising. Based on other models, we believe it will take about four years to reach that point of self-sustainability.
