HeadlineMichael Morwood responds to the critique of Brian Pitts... We have provided considerable exposure over recent days to Michael Morwood's new book "It's Time: Challenges to the Doctrine of the Faith" including a review by Brian Pitts which was in part critical of Michael for seeming to adopt an argument from Bishop John Shelby Spong. Today Michael responds basically rejecting the Spong linkage but re-asserting that it was Paul's Christology that changed the direction of what Jesus himself was offering to humanity. [more]

HeadlineThe challenge in resurrecting Jesus in society today... A double miracle for Good Friday: Firstly we managed to rescue the video address by Michael Morwood that we thought we had lost yesterday. Secondly the content of this talk will possibly make this one of the most memorable Good Fridays and Easters that you'll be remembering long into the future. Michael will challenge you to re-think our entire understanding of Jesus and the the Divine in fresh, exciting and challenging ways. Below the video you will find a review of Michael's newly released book, It's Time : Challenges to the Doctrine of the Faith, by Tom McMahon. [more]

HeadlineChrist? What Happened to Jesus? In this thought-provoking essay Michael Morwood raises questions that will be challenging to both traditionalist theologians and progressive theologians who have been searching for a better interpretation of the meaning of Jesus since the time of Teilhard de Chardin when the insights of modern science began to pose serious challenges to our theologies. This is a thought-provoking essay likely to be dismissed outright by the traditionalists and the fundamentalists but has the potential to encourage much reflection amongst those, following the likes of Teilhard de Chardin, who have been attempting to reinterpret Jesus as the "Cosmic Christ" as a way of enabling our traditional understandings of Christ to better fit with what we're learning about our universe from the sciences and modern scholarship. HeadlineMichael Morwood's challenge to Catholic reform organisations... Is Michael Morwood correct: the things that need reform today are not merely matters of structure and governance but go to the core of doctrine and our fundamental understanding of the relationship God calls humanity, and each of us individually, into and our understanding of how God communicates with his people?
