We want to maintain a dialogue but.... (Main Forum)

by desi @, Australia, Sunday, August 19, 2012, 20:03 (274 days ago)

Also the situation we find ourselves in is one where we want to maintain a dialogue, and the cardinal wants to maintain a dialogue, but that can be difficult when you feel all the things you have to say, to date at least, have been completely ignored."

Of course they never see the irony of these statements!

How many other people feel the same way about trying to have any dialogue with bishops and cardinals?

The quote is actually from a story about Britain's most senior Roman Catholic - Cardinal Keith O'Brien - who has suspended direct communication with Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond in protest at the Scottish government's support for the introduction of same-sex marriages.

WHAT STRANGE CREATURES THESE HIERARCHS ARE WORLD WIDE. CAN ONLY BE THE MANAGEMENT, FOUR AND A HALF YEARS AGO I WROTE
A FAIR DINKUM LETTER TO THE POPE BECAUSE OUR LOCAL BISHOP REFUSED TO TALK TO THE PARENTS OF ABUSED CHILDREN I WENT TO SYDNEY TO PROTEST WYD08, WITH THE PLACARDS AND BANNERS TO PROTEST THE POPES VISIT, WHILE IN HEALESVILLE AND MEREDITH SOME OF THE INFALLIBLY CHOSEN HAD BEEN CAUGHT SEXUALLY EXPLOITING CHILDREN. TIME FOR THE BISHOPS TO ACT LIKE MEN AND TREAT THEIR PEOPLE WITH TRUTH AND DIGNITY.
