Vatican leaks scandal - B16 speaks out! (Main Forum)

by desi @, Australia, Thursday, May 31, 2012, 02:30 (361 days ago)

In a shock development the Pope has broken his silence on the Vatican leaks scandal, expressing his anger at the way some parts of the media are covering the story.

Stop laughing at the back, I'm honestly not making this stuff up!

He also said "exaggerated" and "gratuitous" reports were painting a false image of the Holy See.

So there we have it - it's all the fault of the media!

Well, someone's got to be blamed.

Vatican leaks scandal - B16 speaks out!

by Journeyman, United States, Thursday, May 31, 2012, 05:23 (360 days ago) @ desi

I am surprised that Herr Ratzie is not throwing a huge papal hissy-fit, while rolling on the floor in his clean white cassock; kicking his red Pradas in the air; while screaming at the top of his academic tonsils much like the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland:

"Someone's head IS GOING TO ROLL FOR THIS!"

And, again in his native language: "Jemand wird der Kopf werde für Diese Rolle!"

Ratzie's face is probably redder then his Pradas.

When the clerical sex scandal broke in Boston B16blamed the American attitudes and culture. When the clerical sex scandal broke in Ireland B16 said the Irish people had to do penance. And when his brother Georg admitted abusing ;children when he was in charge of the choid (physical abuse not sexual) B16 remained silent.

B16 is now relegated to searching for infallibility much like George Bush looking for WMD.

I seem to remember, many years ago, when the first reports surfaced of CSA in the US that the Vatican criticized the media for its coverage of the allegations.

"it's all the fault of the media!"

That, desi, is one of the statements this woman who accosted me in Broken Bay Diocese. She came to me when she overheard another person say I sounded like Bishop David Walker. She put all the blame on any bad things we hear or read about the current and previous popes. To her they are the best popes ever. She is a person who like some of the door to door missionaries around has been carefully trained, by some group or other, in the way to defend the reform of the VatII reform.

You sure?

You are not busily writing all this stuff whilst trying to get the protagonists of the Vatileaks to hurry up so you can write the flaming Act III that we are all waiting for????

When will the book be available in an English translation?
It should rival Dan Brown's efforts.

I repeat (for anyone not listening:confused:), Act II is still a 'work in progress' as the situation is an ever evolving/changing/fluid one and the real situation is beginning to overtake the fictional play!

.
The other day, one of the writers even suggested that they should write a piece into Act II saying that someone (maybe a lowly minion who didn't know any better) should say that the Media was at fault for the whole 'Pantomime'.
The others said that it was too ridiculous as that 'ploy' had been tried before with other scandals.

I have great sympathy with the writers as they don't know whether to 'make it all up' or stick with the facts, must be hard to know which is the least unbelievable!

I hear from my 'deep-throat' source that Benny has been looking for a lead detective to solve the mystery but has already been turned down by Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, Morse, Philip Marlowe, Maigret and even Sherlock Holmes.

However Inspector Clouseau has agreed to take on the case.

I was surprised, at first, but on reflection he does seem to be the most appropriate person.

Oh, come on Desi,

Kommisar Rex speaks faultless Hochdeutsch, and since his lengthy stay in Italy, is also quite fluent in Italian. He would be exremely useful in the Papal Apartments, being well trained to fetch and carry, and can also follow orders given by mind-transfer, along with the occasional hand signal. More to the point, he can sniff out a baddie at 10 paces, and will follow him relentlessly.

What more could our Pontiff ask for?

Leave Georg alone, Helen! He's a particular favourite of mine. When he's in a photo with Benny, it's nice to have someone else to look at. And besides, I want the name of his tailor - and his hairdresser!

And he can hitch rides on trains without anyone taking any notice of a whacking great German Shepherd sitting near the door.

Come to think of it, we never noticed the butler sitting near the door either!!

Vatican leaks scandal - Gorgeous Georg makes an appearance!!

According to Italian media reports, Msgr. Georg Ganswein, the Pope’s private secretary, confronted Gabriele shortly before he was taken into custody by Vatican police. Msgr. Ganswein had reportedly reached the conclusion that the valet was a source of the leaked documents, because some of the correspondence that was released to the public would only have been available to a member of the papal household.

I hear that he has entered the 'fray' because he heard that there might be a part going in a new play/farce/pantomime which is being written!

Vatican leaks scandal - a song for every occassion

by Helen @, The other side of Australia, Friday, June 01, 2012, 18:26 (359 days ago) @ desi

Gabriele’s lawyers have asked the Vatican magistrate to release him from the small secure room where he is now being held, and instead place him under house arrest in his own apartment inside the Vatican. The magistrate is weighing that request.

'A room with a view'

'In a small hotel'

'don't fence me in'

but seriously, why is the butler being kept in a small secure room? Why isn't Cardinal Law being kept in a small secure room?

Or am I missing something here?

"The Vatican is moving forward expeditiously with an investigation into the leaks of confidential documents, the director of the Vatican press office told reporters during a May 30 briefing."

Is this approach history in the making?

Just wondering!

In Vaticanspeak, just how fast is "expeditiously"? Is it the same speed at which Galileo and Luther and others were acknowledged as having some iota of truth, or the speed at which Bishop Morris was turfed out?

Some matters (eg ......fill in your own suggestion!) they deal with in a 'prompt, swift, speedy, fast, rapid' manner.

Then, of course, there are matters such as CSA, laicization, etc which are dealt with 'slowly, leisurely, deliberately'.

On page 133 of Hans Kung's "The Catholic Church"is a speech made by one of Benedict's predecessors but which would be worth recylcing by him - Fat chance!

Hadrian VI (another German speaking pope) said in 1522

" We are well aware that for some years now many abominable things have taken place at this Holy See; abuses in matters spiritual, transgressions of the commandments; indeed that has all turned for the worse. So it is not surprising that the sickness has spread from the head to the members, from the pope to the prelates. All of us, prelates and clergy, have departed from the right way."
