"What planet are these men living on? "

Reply by desi, Wednesday, March 07, 2012, 19:19:

It would be interesting to do an Internet search of the Bible with any of the words/phrases below:

concelebration

Mass

priests concelebrating Mass

the structure desired by the Lord

PS

There again one could do the same search with words such as Pope, Cardinal, Magisterium, Curia, infallible, etc, etc, etc

And with the same result.

"The liturgy ... will be beautiful when it is true and authentic"

Reply by desi, Wednesday, March 07, 2012, 19:06:

As long as you are FTTM then it's 'true and authentic'.

Having read the 'piece', here's something else to be really worried about!

I also had another question asked regarding the concelebration of Mass: why, for example, if a thousand priests concelebrate, do we not yet know whether this structure was desired by the Lord?”

WHAT! (I said to myself).

And with the next sentence he compounds the nonsense.

The question is precisely one of keeping “the structure desired by the Lord”,

" true and authentic" to what?

Reply by Journeyman, Wednesday, March 07, 2012, 04:23:

I find Cañizares paper to be representative of the hierarchical mindset anchored in the fantasy world they revel in.

"the liturgy is a gift from God. It is not something fabricated by us men;"

I wonder if God herself, actually wrote the liturgy for us???

“we must learn to understand the structure of the Liturgy and why it is laid out as it is. The Liturgy developed in the course of two millennia, and even after the Reformation was not simply something worked out by a few liturgists.

He fails to understand that the recent changes in the English language liturgy was hijacked by a small group within the Roman Curia who listen intently to a very narrow minded remnant of orthodox laity who wish, like the bishops, to return to medieval days of smells, bells and fiddle-back vestments.

Bishops around the world have been turned into eunuchs by Rome. To become a bishop, before having the pointed hat placed on their head, one had to deliver his gonads on a silver plate to the pope. I wonder if their gonads are then locked in the Vatican Secret Archives and cataloged by which pope castrated the most.

Posting by Helen, Wednesday, March 07, 2012, 01:59:

http://www.zenit.org/article-34403?l=english

For each priest, the celebration of the Holy Mass is the reason for his existence. It is, it must be, an entirely personal encounter with the Lord and with his redemptive work. At the same time, each priest, in the celebration of the Eucharist, is Christ himself present in the Church as Head of his body; and he also acts in the name of the whole Church “when presenting to God the prayer of the Church, and above all when offering the Eucharistic sacrifice”. When we experience the wonder of the Eucharistic gift, which transforms us and configures us to Christ, there is only room for amazement, gratitude and obedience.

Clericalism is still alive and being promoted. Is this the vision of priesthood that will carry the Church through the rest of the 21st century?
