Where's a "mountain-top" experience when you need one? Lent 2 Yr B (Y-not question the Sunday Readings)

by Jerome @, Sunday, March 04, 2012, 16:07 (473 days ago) @ CathyT

I wonder what really happened on Mt Tabor? http://www.biblewalks.com/Photos15/tabor2.JPG
It is obviously a very significant mountain.
Perhaps they were caught up in a thunderstorm.
Whatever it was, the results were that Jesus was now aware of his divine mission, and that the disciples were awestruck and confused and perhaps even ‘blinded’.

My sister died almost 1 year ago after an incredibly courageous battle that lasted some 5 years. She drew considerable strength from her focus on ‘the light of Christ’.
She saw her journey through pain and suffering as a ‘journey into the light’, the light that is God in whom she would ‘blissfully and softly subdue in fulfilment’.
Now she is busy beaming rays of peace back at her family and friends, giving them the courage to live in her spirit, in her light!
Does that make any sense to you?
That ‘dazzling light’ on Mt Tabor was almost blinding! Certainly out of this world! Incomprehensible!
But no matter what, the bits of light beaming at us from my sister and all those who have gone before us, give us enough power to transfigure, . . . . to get out of our tents.
Thank you so much Cathy and Peregrinus and all contributors.
