Any reactions yet to the video? (Sunday Forum)

by Gaspode, Australia, Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 17:58 (1177 days ago) @ Brian Coyne

I pretty much echo Peter here. I sent an email to the makers, congratulating them on the whole program for the sorts of reasons people have been expressing here over the weeks, and also mentioned that I found the discussion on Catholica very useful in deepening my reflection.

Being a technical chump, however, I do regret that I couldn't see any way of repeating parts of a reflection (e.g. one bishop's response) to which I wanted to give more thought, without replaying the whole program again. I assume there was a way of doing this, as Brian was able to select a few minutes and re-post it on Catholica. But for people like me, it would have been good if this had been made obvious and simple.

This last reflection was a warm and intelligent discussion that brought the watcher in to the feeling that matters can be discussed between laity and bishops, and reaffirmed as we saw on other episodes that the bishops do have different personal reactions to the readings and to the season, rather than a company line. What we actually need in the hierarchy - real, human blokes (and blokesses, but let's not get into that now).

All in all, very worthwhile - and I probably would not have found it if attention had not been drawn on Catholica (like so much else).
