One for the gels (Sunday Forum)

Firstly, I'd like to add my thanks to Cathy and reiterate what you say Milly. People often just 'dwell' with what others write and may not necessarily respond. I certainly enjoyed reading your considered words. It's always great to 'hear' a new 'voice'.

» And am I alone in (once again!) smarting at the fact that the man-who-was-part-of-the-adultry never had to face any consequences? Jesus is my hero!

I find this interesting in the light of my own speculation about the Prodigal Son in that I've always wondered how it speaks to women. What was the mother's role in this story? Were there sisters as well as the two brothers?

What would this parable have read like if Jesus wanted to communicate to the men who were the adulterers?

Maybe the stonethrowers were so quick to withdraw because some of them were on the other side of the adultery coin?

Peace to you
