Hey everyone, why not come over here for a bit of a "breather"? (Sunday Forum)

Thanks Cathy - like Milly, I'm a little late but I have read and reflected on and learned from your commentary. I am slow to post at the moment because I am subject to depression and the whole child-abuse business drains me of energy (for people who have never experienced depression: it isn't about being sad, it's much more debilitating than that). And yes, it p###es me off that the adulterous bloke doesn't get the same treatment from the crowd.

So I really appreciate the invitation to a breather. It's especially so because not only does the woman get to stand up beside Jesus and not be condemned, but also the condemnatory crowd breaks down into individuals who have a look at themselves and recognise that they are not perfect either - it is encouraging to me that that is often the way Jesus worked, inviting people to revise their own opinion of themselves rather than openly accusing them of their failings (tho he is harsh enough on the philosophy of groups who may be leading others the wrong way).

I am also with Desi in being glad of the humour on Catholica. I often get into trouble because I tend to think partly through humour when I'm being serious, and a lot of people find that disconcerting. Catholica is often like the conversation over a meal with people who are willing to let you be yourself.
