My Church, I condemn you not, go forward, sin no more. (Sunday Forum)

by Francis @, Kingsgrove, NSW, Wednesday, March 17, 2010, 14:26 (1164 days ago) @ Brian Coyne

The rules that men make are mostly what destroys the life that has been given us by God as a treasure to be carefully preserved. The Church came alive after the promulgation of the decisions of Vatican II Council of the Universal Church. To have enjoyed that freedom and potential growth is considered by some as adultery and deserving of condemnation. I pray that those ready to throw stones present themselves to Jesus to ask his opinion. I notice that those that left first were elders and I pray that our elders today will walk away from the stone-throwing death of the Church that grew from the life of the young Jew, Jesus. Where is the love and compassion of Jesus in those who stand poised to throw deadly stones at the body of the Church they regard as adulterous and only worth of death? I pray that our elders look at themselves to see where they stand in regard to Jesus and also in regard to the adulterer. Will they walk with us to guide us into the future world where sin will be no more.

I pray that my sinfulness does not be the focus of those condemning me but rather that the love and compassion of those appointed to be my elders be as that of Jesus. The future of this adulterous Church depends on it. As the Holy Spirit not politics guided the Church at Vatican II Council so let the Holy Spirit guide the Church into a world that desperately needs the love and compassion of the Church that grew from Jesus of Nazareth.

Francis, who writes in humility.

My purpose is to remember the love that created me in God one with my brothers and sisters and with all life. My function is to extend that love and unity each moment to all.
