My Apology (Main Forum)
“Women’s ordination is a justice issue. Its basis is the value, dignity and equality of women..†Sister of Charity Louise Akers
Since I also believe this to be simply true, and because I have not always seen or believed this but have lived, thought and acted as part of the male-oriented, clergy-dominated church, I now apologise to the whole body of Christ, sisters and brothers in Christ, and particularly to all the women of the church for this injustice which insults their dignity, belittles their contribution and allocates to them a place permanently on a lower level in our community.
I raise my voice now calling for the Church to give women equal opportunity with men to all levels of ministry, of leadership and of government in the church community for such is their right in that we are all equally human and all one in Christ.
The Christian Community has no right to repress, confine or subjugate even one of its members, let alone the better half.
