Jingles (Main Forum)

by Alan @, 'Between Joy and Paradise, Texas', Monday, June 16, 2008, 14:07 (1799 days ago) @ TonySee

I remember the dancing cigarette packs on TV back when I was a kid. They had legs that went all the way up...to where the pack started. Nice gams.

Then there was the 'cigarette smoking machine' with three domes and a squeeze bulb. It scientifically proved beyond doubt that one filter brand worked better than others. True, too, because the guy who squeezed the bulb wore a lab coat.

"With Parliament the nicotine and tars all stay
a quarter inch away. A quarter inch away."

So went the jingle. Since the buzz is in the nicotine, I never understood why you'd want a filter that kept it away.

Well, now I know and I'll take all bets,
If you smoke all seven filter cigarettes,
You'll find some too strong, some too light,
But Viceroy's got the taste that's right.

That's right.

That's right.

They used to give away free 4-packs of cigarettes on the train. My uncle would bring them home and put them in the dresser. I'd sneak one outside and puff myself dizzy. Chesterfield and Camel were always the best. You could light either end.

WWII would never have been won without Lucky Strike and Hershey's bars.

Those were the days!

Children know that dragons exist.
They teach children that dragons can be killed."'
