I appreciate this post you've written albeit that one of the troubles with parsing is that it bcomes very difficult to parse a parsed commetnary and then parsing the parse of a parsed commentarty becomes more problematical again. I wanna parse your passing but I'm gunna resist the temptation. I don't have time now but there are issues in what you've written that I will come back and challenge in due course.

While I have your attention though, I've been complaining for days to Amanda how behind I'm getting in responding to my email correspondence. I haven't gotten back to you on your last response to me. Let me do it here: yes how about "parsing" a bit of Catholica on Wednesdays? Just start off with one, anyone — your choice. Over the years one of the things you have convinced me of is the value of parsing. Previously the only place where I'd seen it used was in legal argumentation but you do really have a gift (even if I do think some of your arguments against my arguments stink to high heaven and are totally without merit and logic!).

I promise though that when I respond to your arguments above it will be without parsing lest I confuse other readers too much. I'm going to nominate you as "king of the parse". More tomorrow hopefully and God willing.

And, yes, returning to add this: I meant to add that I was not wishing to infer that you were having a go at me about using the photo. I hadn't taken your original post that way. I did appreciate you being the one to uncover the hoax — and I was not surprised that it was you who would have gotten to the bottom of it so quickly.
