Farmers go green under carbon tax scheme (Main Forum)
Thanks for this, Peter. Hope you and Betty are well.
It's easy to be a wise onlooker, of course, but I have always been surprised at places on the Tablelands and Slopes having been denuded of all tree-country.
Even during the 19thC when land-holders were paid to ring-bark practically everything in sight patches for windbreaks were necessary, I would think.
Thank Goodness, our eldest has many good patches on what is his now and his stock are the better for it.
re the cove complaining of 'bureacracy', and I do not want to be uncharitable here, this is a very common complaint from people on the land with which I have never been able to agree. Independance and individualism are great but some controls are always necessary for the common-weal.
Not all Public Servants are a waste of space.
