Could it be that people are very reluctant to let go of what has been so ingrained for hundreds of years, and are unable to believe that we are physically the Body of Jesus in the world today.

This reality is not just when we consume the blessed bread and wine of the Eucharist, but at all times when we are able to see one another through the eyes of Jesus, as Jesus see us in himself.

When we affirm this reality in one another, at the moment we are about to receive consume the elements, bread and wine, and respond not just with a quick "Amen", but say to the Eucharistic Minister or priest, "We are the Body of Christ; We are the Blood of Christ." That is the real/true act of faith.

This is what we need to contemplate, dialogue with one another, to share our stories of our experience with God. Partaking in the Eucharist is not a private affair, as so many people may believe. Partaking in the Eucharist is a community voice speaking aloud to one another "We are the Body and Blood of Jesus," this moment, today and tomorrow. Help me to live that reality.

Jesus is with us as we gather, "When two or more are gathered in my name, I am re-membered in each of you completely, physically and in love."
