More INTER-DEPENDENT Christianity would lead to less breakdown. (Main Forum)

My instinct tells me that we are in a time of "hinge of history" when new doors are swinging open but leading to very different situations than we have ever had to confront as a human species, spiritual and physical.

The Church is disintegrating from whatever causes, whether rot at the core or disillusion at the fringes.

The world economic systems are no longer sustainable yet the fate of millions depends on some kind of continuity.
Nations once allied for mutual benefit are stepping back and the older tribalisms are rising again.

And the rate of personal disintegration keeps pace with all these changes. How many people live lives of quiet despair; how many suffer mental health issues because the world is too hard for them; how many would like to attempt suicide (or homicide) but can't quite make the decision; how many are seeing all in which they trusted falling apart and are powerless to see a way ahead?

In spite of the pessimism from the above, the doors are opening onto vistas beyond our hopes and dreams, even if the road ahead is clouded in the mists of uncertainty.
For too long we, as a species, have sought certainty when none is really possible. We cannot be sure of our next breath, let alone our next meal.

It's time to embrace the Mystery within and beyond human existence as we know. Quite a wild ride ahead, but I hope to be there for at least some of it.
