More INTER-DEPENDENT Christianity would lead to less breakdown. (Main Forum)

by Oh Yet We Trust, Brisbane, Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 08:37 (343 days ago) @ Brian Coyne

....less breakdown on an individual, social and even national scale: The 'me first' and 'everything can be broken apart and reduced' of post-modernism has caused so much of the suffering in today's western world but.....

It is sad, but true in my assessment, that many people feel, as he says, that "I haven't left the Church but the Church has left me".

Too true, sadly, too true.

It might be argued that it is the institution and its hierarchy that has forced many people to become "independent Catholics" and think for themselves.

I really wish he'd used the word and we'd use the word 'inter-dependent' Catholics: it is far more 'early Christian' and less 'post-modernist' or 'pomo' for short.

Also worth watching for those interested in where our world and the church is going is the Four Corners program last night:

Toomelah on a national scale ??????????

Oh yet we trust that somehow good
Will be the final goal of ill
