You're on the money, George. We need business to provide the jobs, but unless workers get a decent wage, they can't spend.
That's why the Rudd govt stimulus worked, putting money into the pockets of the low paid employees. Guess what - they spent it, and helped keep Australia from the worst of the GFC.
Getting it back through a tax on the wealthiest individuals and corporations won't hurt anyone except the super-greedy.
