MacBee, when I first met one of Qld's most notorious child molesters, the psychologist who introduced us did not tell me who he was or why he was in maximum security. He then left us to talk for a while, but asked me to come and see him after the interview. He asked me what my reaction to the person was, even though I still didn't know his history. I told him that I wanted to run away, have a long shower, wash my hair and throw up.
Then he told me who the man was and enough of his history so that I could work with him. I can only cringe when I think of his poor little victims, as the man was reptilian in appearance as well as character. The opinion of those working with him was that he could not be rehabilitated and, if released, would re-offend very quickly, which has proved true. I sincerely hope he will not be released again unless it is into the strictest security conditions, not just an ankle bracelet.
