MacBee, your courage and honesty is astounding, apart from the good you are doing with your grandson.
Perhaps many, if not all, of us have been 'drugged" by the constant feeding of "infallibility etc" and only now that we are waking up (with hangovers from that) are we able to see more clearly how severe the abuse has been, but we have not idea yet just how many are suffering from this horror nor the full depth of their pain, and now we raise our voices with yours in demanding an honest response, regardless of what damage it may do to the "image" of the Church. Can;t do any worse that than already done by those covering up the sin..
One child abused anywhere in the world is a crime and horrible. That those supposed to be reflecting Jesus to the world dared to cover up not one but many is just beyond understanding. Yet we wait for some honesty from the one who signed the paper but let's not hold out breaths. Is it possible that some people are dragging their heels on this, hoping that either God will take Benedict home and deal with him as he deserves, or that he will become too gaga to take the stand in a worldly Court? Shades of Bevacquila?
