The priest has nothing to do with it (Main Forum)

If you believe, the bread and wine become the true presence when consumed . Your faith and the Holy Spirit are the catylyst. Otherwise if the priest caused the change he would be a magician and that of course is illusion and superstition.
I know bread is referred to as the true presence on the altar but in scripture Jesus said whenever two or more are gathered in my name I will be present. Isn't the true presence the coming together of the People of God?
Isn't the true presence directly related to the presence of the people and not some wafer on a table?
Many of the things we take for granted as being part of the Catholic religion are clerical in its creation. Jesus never said you must attend Mass on Sunday and Holydays, confess your sins once a year, make your Easter Duty, fast and abstain on the days appointed, contribute to the support of your pastor. He said love God, love your neighbor and give to the poor. He never mentioned purgatory, indulgences, interdict, excommunication, inquisition etcetera. We have come so far!
