What is important about that interview... (Main Forum)

by Ian Lawther @, Monday, April 30, 2012, 23:51 (384 days ago) @ Brian Coyne

. Priests and bishops are culturally incapable of telling the truth. They constantly have to figuratively "look over their shoulders" before they say anything lest they make some trangression against the "party line" or the "company policy". In most situations they are at least vocationally, and one might argue almost genetically, incapable of simply "telling the truth" about what they really think.**** While I agree with every thing you say in this paragraph Brian . It is a sad sign of the depth of the betrayal that has been thrown at the blind faithful. If the institutional Church has such a hold on the hierarchs surely it is time for an inquiry to go even further into the systemic abuse of humankind. I say once again “the sponge like absorption of peoples individuality by the Hierarchs is a crime against humanity”. The very nature of a yes man mentality can only lead to weaker and weaker yes men. Geoffery Robinson appears to be only one of 4000 bishops that has the guts to tell it how it is. Leaves me wondering that if truth has no value in the institutional church what value does Christ have?
Cheers Ian Lawther.
