A little milestone today...
Dear Friends,
It's a little milestone today — the eleven hundreth edition of our daily bulletin. I can only say "Deo Gratias" as we continue to journey forth by the grace of God...
I can report that Silvio Del Vecchio also exceeded his targets yesterday in the City-to-Surf Marathon in Sydney — now the biggest race of its kind in the world apparently, 75,000 runners yesterday. He wanted to complete the race in under 65 minutes and came in at 63.59. His target was to raise $25,000 from sponsors and he raised $30,000. Congratulations, Silvio, and on behalf of Silvio thanks to the donors from Catholica who helped him reach the target.
This period around 350CE that Tom Lee is covering in Chapter 20 of his manuscript was not a good time for the Church as today's excerpt demonstrates. There were lots of Councils, many no longer part of the official record, and extraordinary disagreement amongst the leadership factions centred on the Arian controversy.
