God through an Islamic perspective...
Dear Friends,
There are many things I give thanks for each day about how Catholica is progressing. Without the benefit of substantial financial backing from anywhere (I'm talking about the really big stuff) I myself am staggered at how far we've come. It's all thanks to the enormous voluntary input of our lead commentators and those who keep the discussions fired up in the forum. In the last hour or so I've compiled some overall statistics which I'll regularly update at the bottom of our home page and forum pages. Here they are:
Total Visitor Stats at 7 August 2009 [Counting since 1 Jan 2007] |
Total Visits |
Pages Read |
Hits |
Data Downloaded |
732,213 |
20,559,314 |
105,338,872 |
581.36Gb |
Unfortunately I cannot show a 'Unique Visitor' total that is meaningful as that stat is collected monthly and not annually. The figure at the moment is 397,576 but a lot of those would be counted many times over. The nearest meaningful figure I can give is that we have averaged about 21,000 unique visitors per month for the past 18 months up to the end of July with our highest figures being 24,855 in October last year and 24,270 in March this year.
Today's commentary from Daniel Gullotta is again fascinating not only for its content but also being able to read these ideas through the eyes of a young theology student who is self-evidently enthusiastic about things religious and spiritual. Daniel takes us on a little excursion to check out the Sacred Book of the Moslems, The Qur'an.

It's great having this range in ages of our commentators. The constant challenge I face is attracting more commentators who present the female perspectives on all these questions of faith and belief and what's it all about. And the big challenge is increasing our overall readership. Slowly, slowly we're getting there though — by the grace of God more than any of our endeavours I suspect. |
