I'm running late again today partly because we had some technical problems with the server last night. My apologies for that. It's an interesting commentary from Ian Elmer today — on St Paul's relationship with the community at Philippi — what I really love about the picture that emerges of Paul is that he seems to have been a really earthy character. He calls a spade a "bloody shovel" when it needs to be called a "bloody shovel". The guy isn't some sycophant needing to suck up to anybody and trying to be a social conformist. His singular interest seems to be "the pursuit of truth" in this difficult territory of seeking to express something that is Mystery and Spiritual in language accessible in the boundaries of our limited human doman. <Read Ian's commentary> www.catholica.com.au/gc0/ie2/102_ie_230409.php
Wishing you a great day wherever you happen to be ... in life and in our world.
