A cheeky headline...

It's a cheeky headline for this cheeky commentary from Dick Westley It's the second from a series of workshops he conducted in Chicago in October which looks both at the decline of Christianity but with a view to re-invigorating our spirituality. And talking about being cheeky, I thought my own Bishop, Kevin Manning, was being a bit cheeky in his address to the graduating students from Campion College overnight cautioning them that being Catholic is more about being merciful than being right! Hello — has the rear guard action commenced to take back our Church from those who have been trying to paint Catholicism as this endeavour of self-righteous and "we're the only ones in civilisation with any answers"? The developments in Perth with the restoration of community equilibrium after the Bethel tragedy, and the developments in Brisbane at St Mary's might be indicating a return to some sanity in our Church.
