Should Pope Pius XII be canonised?

Headline banner

Dear Friends,

Very quickly as I'm about to drop. Two valuable commentaries today...

I attended the launch last night of Dr Paul O'Shea's scholarly study of the controversial wartime Pope, Pius XII. We're able to bring you full video of the addresses at the launch which was held at Parliament House in Sydney. The principal addresses were given by ABC Religion Report Presenter, Stephen Crittenden; Rabbi Jeremy Lawrence, Chief Minister at the Great Synagogue in Sydney; and by the author himself, Paul O'Shea. In short they are urging caution on the haste that seems underway in some quarters of the Church to canonise Pope Pius. The evidence is not yet "all in" and there are already grounds to assert that despite his acknowledged "holiness" and "good intentions" the man made seriously flawed moral and political judgments that aggravated the situation of the Jewish people. <Watch the video from the launch>

Our previous advertised lead commentary is from Frank Purcell. He's engaged in some "negative brain storming". If we, or the bishops, were really intent on driving everyone out of the Church and reducing the institution to remnant status, what would be some of the bext ways to go about it? (Continue the present policies, dumbo!!! No, only joking. Go read what Frank has to say.) <Read Frank Purcell's commentary>

Wishing you a great day wherever you happen to be ... in life and in our world. I'm off to bed. It's been a marathon effort to prepare this video for easy access on the net.
