Deo Gratias!

Dear Friends,

I will not be doing the layout for a lead commentary today as I have much background research to complete today for Saturday's commentary on the Bethel Convenant Community story. (If you watched Four Corners last Monday night you won't want to miss tomorrow's edition of Catholica.) To provide room for this I'd like to share with you a few of the entries that have been received so far in our "Design a Bumper Sticker Competition". Have you put any ideas in yet? It's just a bit of fun and an excuse for us to give away a copy of Robert Blair Kaiser's racy, "Cardinal Mahony – A Novel". I liken it to Morris West's great stories of Church intrigue but it does have an underlying message trying to imagine a Church that might reach out to the world again.

Talking about Bob Kaiser: he's on his way to Australia tomorrow and Milly and I will be catching up with him on Sunday afternoon and evening. I hope to record a short "Welcome to Aus" interview with him Sunday night which I will bring you along with the next instalment of Tom Lee's series on Monday.

Big night in our house last night as we sat down and broke bread with Zoltan, Amanda's producer, and then for the first time listened to the final mix of all seventeen songs that they have been busy recording since Easter. Sensational stuff. Amanda was a teary-eyed mess at the end of it all. On Monday it's off to the publisher, Willow Connection, for mastering and production of the cd's. It's taken about three weeks longer than originally scheduled but the extra time spent fine-tuning everything was worth it. On the forum I have posted an excerpt of the Kyrie from the Mass setting cd that will provide small taste of the treat in store.

Just out of interest you might like to know that for the first time ever we have had a straight run of 15 days of more than 1000 visits a day to our forum. The previous best straight run of days of more than a thousand visits was 5 days. The average number of visits for the last 15 days was just over 1,140.

Cheers and Deo Gratias for all these projects. <Listen to the Kyrie Excerpt on our forum>

Here are some of the sample bumper sticker slogans which I've animated into this banner...
