A Turbulence and A Whirlpool! Dear Friends, Bishop Robinson entitles Chapter Nine of his book "A Turbulence and a Whirlpool". He's now at the core of the second great issue, sex, which he believes sits at much of the contemporary Church's problems in losing credibility with its flock. He argues: "If the Catholic Church is to regain some credibility after the many scandals of sexual abuse, it must first learn to speak with humility, intelligence, realism and compassion about all aspects of human sexuality". <Click HERE to read Bishop Robinson's reflection> Enjoy your day. We're off to visit a few of the other members of the Catholica community based in Sydney for our first face-to-face pre-Christmas get-together. It should be a hoot under the capable stewardship of Lillypilly on Castaway Island and you'd been thinking "Castaway Island" was purely fictional. We're about to find out what it is really like provided the weather is kind to us otherwise I suspect we'll be trampling our muddy boots through Lillypilly's house. If Catholica doesn't appear tomorrow you'll know we're having a really good time and have decided to book in permanently. |
