What scholars are searching for in the historical Jesus...

Dear friends,

For the benefit of new subscribers, Thursdays and Fridays are supposed to be the editor's days off at the moment but thanks to the interest being shown in Catholica that resolution is not being kept very religiously. When we have the financial resources our ambition is to employ a deputy editor who can take over on weekends to enable us to publish seven days a week without anyone eventually suffering a coronary. For the moment though I'm trying to take it easy on Thursdays but on Friday's we are publishing a series of essays from a young man who is studying theology at ACU National in Brisbane. His name is Daniel Gullotta. We are publishing these essays Daniel has submitted from two principal points of view. Firstly they enable us to see how a young person tackles these big theological issues. Secondly, and this is one of our main aims in encouraging the submission of these commentaries from younger writers, is it provides some insight into the broader perspectives of young people. In his second essay today Daniel examines the work scholars are engaged in endeavouring to give the world a more accurate understanding of the historical person of Jesus. <more>

Best wishes for a great day wherever you happen to be ... in life, and in our world,
