EDITOR'S ROUND-UP

Taking you a little closer to God...
Friday, 23rd February 2007

Dear friends,

Ian Elmer certainly stirred up a lot of interest yesterday with his headline referring to St Peter as being "thick as a brick" and suggesting the bible is flawed. In the last while he's posted a response to the discussion yesterday that is well worth reading. Like Alex Caughey, he argues there is a great sense as to why Jesus would have chosen a flawed character to lead the Church. It reflects that we are all flawed. [Read Ian's response from this morning] Today's Scriptural readings explore the phenomenon of hypocrisy that we all have to deal with in our behaviours. [Read today's Lenten Reflection]

This coming weekend we have a wealth of good commentary coming up basically all targeted at trying to help all of us make our new day a little better, a little more fulfilling, and lead us a little closer to God than our previous day.

Best wishes for a great day wherever you happen to be ... in life, and in our world,
