EDITOR'S ROUND-UP

We have a winner!
Friday, 3rd November 2006

Dear friends,

Firstly, let me announce the winner of our competition. There were many very creative names suggested — including quite a few as variations of one sort and another on the name George (I wonder why) — so much so that we had to resort to a preferential voting system to try and find some final winner. It wasn't the more creative names that eventually rose to the top but one of the most obvious. Our new character is hereby name "Farmer Jack" and half a dozen bottles of SevenHill wine and the special compilation cd of Amanda McKenna's music are on their way to the home of Val Hayes in Melbourne. Congratulations Val and thanks to everyone who entered the competion.

Today we've got some rich fare for reflection including an excerpt from a new track from Amanda. The interview with Diarmuid O'Murchu I trust might lead to some vigorous discussion in our forum. He covers an enormous amount of ground in the interview and there are many take-off points for discussion.

TOM'S TAKE...

Introduction to Diarmuid O'MurchuDiarmuid O'Murchu and Amanda McKenna Tom Scott's commentary today firstly points to a fascinating series of interviews Diarmuid O'Murchu has given in recent days to Tom Fox at National Catholic Reporter. Don't miss listening to them. Tom also brings you an exclusive excerpt from Amanda McKenna's new song, One Body in Christ, which is to be launched at a national conference in Canberra in early December for people with disabilities.
