“Neither Oppressor Nor Oppressed Be!”
Friday, 22nd September 2006

Dear friends,

Cliff takes a candid look today at the holy book, the Qu'ran, and urges that we strive for peace for all people. If we do not, he says, we are like the Gadarene Swine, heading to perdition. Moderate Islam must be encouraged at all costs and at the same time militant Christianity's merchants of death resisted. We need, he says, to look at the sort of religious texts that fuel religious fanaticism.

And while we're on the subject of peace can I draw your attention to the wonderful post on the board by Tony Robertson yesterday. I find the sort of stuff Tony was writing really uplifting. It generates a sense of hope.

IN COMING DAYS...

AvatarTomorrow Ian continues his provocative series searching for the historical Jesus. His focus is now on Jesus mission and message. Great reading from Ian in the coming weeks! On Sunday Kate is back with a fascinating look at discernment — how do we prioritise things in our life?

Best wishes for a great day wherever you happen to be ... in life, and in our world.
